Our Story
Who we are
The Record shop on 95th is a Mom-And-Pop record shop set up uniquely different than any other record shop in the history of record shops. We are set up by a price point. How does that work? In a world of too many sub-genre's, and in a world filled with ADHD, flipping through vinyl this way works. As you're flipping, you will find music from decades in the past, to releases of current artists. As you are looking in our shop, we are here to help, we love talk, we love to help guide, and love to help you find what you knew about, or maybe what you have yet to learn about.
History with Music
We, our entire lives, have been into the physical format of music and media. From not only Records, Cassettes, and CD's, to VHs to Blu-ray. We have gone though many different formats of music and media. Our lives have many stories filled with musical memories, from our favorite song, to Christmas's listing to records around the tree. Music is personal to everyone, in so many different ways. But to own your physical media is to what we pride ourselves on. Digital media cant take that away from you, and you'll be able to hear the full album, not just what radio stations deem popular.
Why we do What We do
Why we do what we do is because many decades ago, we met at a record shop, or back then it was actually a CD store. Music, as well as record stores, have always been a big part of our lives. We took what we loved, and made this the record shop what we'd want to walk into. We loved when people talked to us. We loved having conversations about both music and life at those shops, which is why we do it at our shop. We liked not being judged, not by what we were wearing, or by what we listened to, and that's why we do what we do here too. We want people to feel comfortable to be themselves. We understand that, in today, in the world of everything being fast-paced, its nice to slow down and simply hang out at the Record Shop on 95th. We look forward to seeing you and hearing your story too.
